Real Solutions for Unsheltered Homelessness
Join Keith for his conversation with Norm McGillivray, Founder of Beddown.
Norm McGillivray founded Beddown in late 2018 with a view of helping the homeless. Beddown provides access to a bed and a great night’s sleep through an innovative approach - activating pop-up accommodation at night in underutilised spaces. He is partnering with Australia’s largest car park operator, Secure Parking, to pilot and bring Beddown to as many of the 8,000 homeless across Australia through activating and repurposing empty, underutilised car parks and other spaces.
Originally from the UK, Norm’s background has seen him work in the Automotive Industry for Jaguar and Land Rover. In Australia, Norm has worked in Industry, Government and the Not-for-Profit sectors. Now, Norm is challenging conventional thinking to address the massive social issue of homelessness here in Australia as he looks to implement his vision of ‘we believe everyone deserves a bed to sleep in.

Portland Tribune Endorses Keith Wilson for Portland City Council #4
After interviewing every candidate, the Portland Tribune has endorsed Keith Wilson for Portland City Council #4. They wrote:
"We did not expect to endorse Wilson. Then, we spoke to him...
We liked his answers on homelessness and the unsheltered homeless population; his passion about addressing climate change; his take on equity and inclusion. As with another race this year, we asked the candidates for Position 4 where they stood on revamping Portland's chaotic and outdated governance structure. Most candidates equivocated because of the current pandemic crisis. Wilson said..., "If it's the right thing to do, then it's the right time to do it. Right now. I mean, when are we not in crisis?"
That's a savvy answer. There's always a reason not to make the tough call...
Keith Wilson gets our nod as progressive businessman on a council that could use that perspective."

Regional transportation company Titan Freight Systems is using Switchboard to offer its services to others in need. The business recently received a loan through the Paycheck Protection Program and said all of its drivers are working and ready to help. “I have a lot of idle capacity and since we received that benefit we went right to Switchboard,” said Titan Freight Systems President Keith Wilson, who is also running for Portland City Council. “We are getting calls and now we are providing services—free transportation for nonprofits and people in crisis—so we can do our part.”
